The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a fantastic option if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is middle-of-the-road. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking certain of the more advanced features found in its more expensive counterpart.

In tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats from medium-pile carpets. It does not use LIDAR, however, as cheaper models do, to identify your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as the dirt compartment built into the charging base. This robot can learn your habits of cleaning, and suggest automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.

The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of the button. You can choose an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger particles like cereal and rice. You can also select two detailed mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum is effective on both floors that are bare and carpet with a low pile. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as some other models, and it can even pick up pet hair with ease. It's a challenge with plush or high-pile carpets however, iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it hug furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common, but we found it only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We like the statement, but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It can then clean your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows the areas that require attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping feature is superior, as its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only drawback is that it lacks a second rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but that's an acceptable price to pay if you want one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's tank for dust is larger than many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even at the highest dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, generate very little noise, which allows you to work or even watch television without interruption. If it comes into contact with an object, such as a wall or furniture piece, it gently bumps into it and then moves along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the bin hidden from view and washes and dry the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to a full bin.

You can also create and merge actual rooms to customize how the Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or when you have to frequently remove clutter, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can even remove wet spills but I would suggest cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a high-end robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also has a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling on furniture and other objects.

The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It measures over two feet in both height and depth, and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when required.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature which allows it to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead just following a set route.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its rotating mop pads that remove tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent too and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does a thorough job. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as any we've seen in an ordinary robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality robot vacuum and mop that comes with a range of features that you aren't likely to find on robots of this price range. It can make precise floor maps and recognize different flooring types. It's also one of the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice, but they also push the L10s into the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's slim and tall and has a white-colored finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the vacuum cleaner and furniture as you move around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability which clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hard-floor test and taking out all but the most difficult juice stain.
